Dr. Prerana Shah (Retina Consultant) is graduated from TNMC & BYL Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai (2013). Her postgraduate experience from Drishti Netralaya Dahod, Gujarat (2016) has been enriching giving her an inclination towards disease of posterior segment and trauma.
After her fellowship (FVRS) from Arvind Eye Hospital and Post Graduate Institute of Ophthalmology, Madurai (Tamil Nadu), she worked as a consultant at the said prestigious institute.
During this period, she was awarded a grant of 50 thousand USD as winner (first Indian) of the Prestigious Global Ophthalmology Award Program sponsored by Bayer.
With the help of her seniors & colleagues, she has successfully used the grant to set up multiple tele screening centres for retinopathy of prematurity ( a disease of eyes in preterm newborn babies) in various districts of Tamil Nadu.
With a passion for diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, age related macular degenerations, she is a firm believer that patients with retinal disorders can enjoy good vision with the use of low vision aids.
